<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease fault due to discontinuity in lines, to prevent deterioration in video signals and to obtain a high-quality liquid crystal display device by forming wirings of Al, Ta or alloy film layer on a substrate. SOLUTION: A scanning line electrode and a common electrode composed of first metal electrodes are formed on a transparent insulating substrate 1. The first metal electrode composed of an Al or Ta film or an alloy film including these metal elements, or a composite film of plural layer of these metal films, ad further a self-oxidized film of the metal is formed. For example, the top surface and side faces of an Al scanning signal line 10 on a glass substrate 1 are covered with an Al2 O3 film 20 which is the self-oxidized film of Al. Then a second pixel electrode 16 connected to a first pixel electrode 13, the scanning signal line 10, and the Al2 O3 film 20 and a gate SiN film 21 formed between the first and second electrodes from an additional capacitance. Thereby, the opening ratio can be improved, an additional capacitance with high reliability can be obtd., and fault due to short circuits in the additional capacitance part can be decreased.</p> |
