The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus of a terminal for selecting a cell in a wireless communications system, which can resolve the user inconvenience of being unable to receive a call due to a location area update process. According to the present invention, the method of a terminal for selecting a cell in a wireless communications system comprises: a step of detecting the termination of a call; a step of performing a cell search based on a cell used for the call, at least one cell used before the call, and a cell used right before establishing the call; and a step of determining a cell to be selected based on a result of the cell search and the cell used right before establishing the call.
