According to an embodiment of the present invention, an energy storage apparatus stores electric power energy generated by an electric generator as rotary kinetic energy or supplies the stored rotary kinetic energy to the electric generator. The energy storage apparatus includes: a rotary body equipped with a rotary shaft; a housing which is equipped with a bearing to support the rotary shaft to be rotatable and supports or covers at least one part of the rotary body; and a floating unit of which one is combined with the rotary body and the other one is combined with the housing so as to generate power for floating the rotary body. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the energy storage apparatus improves the efficiency of energy transformation by minimizing friction loss due to floating and rotating the rotary body by the floating unit. The energy storage apparatus minimizes an increase in costs and is applied to an apparatus with mass capacity by applying floatation by a mechanical bearing and a superconductor at the same time. |
