<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag apparatus for passenger seat which can stabilize a deploying behavior of an airbag. <P>SOLUTION: An airbag apparatus 10 for a passenger seat includes a strap 22 which has one lengthwise end 22A fixed to a retainer 20 and a sewn part 22B provided at the other lengthwise end sewn to an airbag 14. The strap 22 receives a drawing force immediately after an non-deployed part 14D of the airbag 14 passes through an opening 64 of an instrument panel 12 in the middle of the expansion deployment of the airbag 14. Consequently, a deploying direction of the non-deployed part 14D is adjusted to be a direction along a surface of the instrument panel 12. Thereafter, when the non-deployed part 14D is deployed to be spread toward a passenger seat, the strap 22 is broken and the airbag 14 is fully deployed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
