PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high bulk density detergent composition excellent in detergency, particle solubility and dispersibility by including a specific nonionic surfactant, a crystalline silicate and an inorganic sulfate in a specific content ratio. SOLUTION: This composition is prepared by including (A) 6-50 wt.% nonionic surfactant having the melting point of <=400 deg.C (e.g. a polyoxyethylene- polyoxypropylene-polyoxyethylene alkyl ether), (B) 4-50 wt.% crystalline silicate preferably having an average particle diameter of 1-40μm and (C) 7-50 wt.% inorganic sulfate (e.g. sodium sulfate). The ingredient B preferably is a crystalline silicate of e.g. the formula x(M2O).y(SiO2).z(MemOn).w(H2O) [where-in M is a group I a element; Me is a group II a element or the like; (y)/(x) is 0.5 to 3.2; (z)/(x) is 0.01 to 0.9; (w) is 0 to 20 and; (n)/(m) is 0.5 to 2] or the formula M2O.v(SiO2).u(H2O) [wherein M is an alkali metal; (v) is 1.5 to 3.2 and; (u) is 0 to 20].
