PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink ribbon cassette without the risk of printing omission or a stick phenomenon with respect to a plurality of kinds of printers without the need of tension adjustment, and a thermal transfer ink ribbon to be used therefor. SOLUTION: With a 19-25 mm winding core and unwinding core diameter (outer diameter), a 5.0-7.0μm thickness of a ribbon to be used, and a 50 m-100 m length of the ribbon to be used, the ribbon is wound around the unwinding core, and used. Or, the winding core and unwinding core diameter (outer diameter), and the pancake-like diameter (outer diameter) on the unwinding side including the ink ribbon to be used are provided in a certain range.
