<p>Poultry processing line (1) comprising a series of poultry carriers (9) and a processing unit or processing units (8, 8', 8"), wherein the poultry carriers (9) are movable to and fro the processing unit or processing units (8, 8', 8") and the poultry carriers (9) and the processing unit or processing units (8, 8', 8") are synchronized to enable processing of the poultry by the processing unit or processing units (8, 8', 8"), wherein further the poultry carriers (9) and/or the processing unit or processing units (8, 8', 8") are selectable between an operational position in which the poultry is processed by the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8") and an inoperational or idle position in which the poultry is prevented from being processed by the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8''). For this purpose a selected one of the poultry carriers (9) and the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8") is provided with a switch (10, 10', 10") having at least two positions, a first position in which the selected one of the poultry carriers (9) and the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8") is caused to follow a first path which brings the poultry carriers (9) and the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8") together so as to enable that the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8") process the poultry carried by the poultry carriers (2), and a second position in which the selected one of the poultry carriers (9) and the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8") is caused to follow a second path which keeps the poultry carriers (9) and the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8") apart so as to prevent that the processing unit or units (8, 8', 8") process the poultry carried by the poultry carriers (2).</p> |
