<p>A nutraceutical product for the symptomatic management of cough of Lagundi (Vitex negundo) and Luya or Ginger (Zingiber officinale). Lagundi is credited with many medicinal properties as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, bronchial relaxant and hepatoprotective. Luya contains active ingredients that have been shown to have analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti emetic, muscle relaxant and anti-oxidant properties. The specific pharmacokinetic interactions of the compounds found in both plants are not known. Active compounds in Vitex negundo and Zingiber officinale have known anti-inflammatory properties through prostaglandin inhibition, anti-histamine anti-infective actions. These compounds act to augment innervations of cough receptoors, as well as relieve bronchospasm and edema caused by endogenous neuropeptides, histamine and eicosanoids. This dual component herbal is indicated for relief of cough due to common cold and flu, bronchospasm in bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis and other bronchopulmonary disorders.</p> |
