<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoding device for performing encoding at a high bit rate for suppressing an increase in an arithmetically encoded data buffer, and for preventing deterioration in picture quality.SOLUTION: An image encoding device for performing orthogonal transformation and quantization of image data for each block of an encoding object to perform entropy encoding includes: binarization means for generating binary data from the quantized signal; a binary data buffer for storing the binary data generated by the binarization means; a plurality of arithmetic encoding means for performing arithmetic encoding of the binary data stored in the binary data buffer; and an arithmetically encoded data buffer for storing the plurality of arithmetically encoded data encoded by the plurality of arithmetic encoding means. The plurality of arithmetic encoding means perform arithmetic encoding in a parallel operation.</p> |
