PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make pressing operation in the direction intended by a user likely to be easy when the vicinity of a border between respective buttons is pressed by the user in a button device capable of pressing operation in plural directions in one component.SOLUTION: A switch mechanism includes: a button part; a contact type switch provided in each of plural directions; a button contact part which comes into contact with the switch and is provided on the rear surface of the button part; a cover part covering the periphery of the button part; and a flange part which is provided in the outer periphery of the button part and restricts flying out from a housing inside of the button part by coming into contact with the cover part. The flange part includes a notch at a position facing each other across a center position between the switch and the button part.
