<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-piece solid golf ball having an excellent ball hitting feeling and excellent flying performance and controllability. <P>SOLUTION: This golf ball is composed of a core (4) consisting of a center (1) and one or more middle layers (2) formed on the center and a cover (3) formed on the core. In the golf ball, in the case of indicating the center hardness of the center by Shore D hardness, surface hardness, the hardness of the middle layer (2) and the hardness of the cover (3) H<SB>M</SB>, H<SB>S</SB>, H<SB>I</SB>and H<SB>C</SB>, respectively, by relation indicated by the following two formulas: -5≤(H<SB>S</SB>-H<SB>M</SB>)≤5 and H<SB>S</SB><H<SB>I</SB><H<SB>C</SB>is satisfied.
