PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a high quality image signal obtained by appropriately suppressing noise in accordance with a local correction characteristic of an input signal at low costs during performing image correction for correcting a signal level.SOLUTION: An image signal processor includes: a local information acquisition part for calculating a statistical amount of pixel values of a local region including a pixel of interest as local information; noise correction means for performing noise correction processing by using the local information acquired by the local information acquisition part and outputting an image signal subjected to noise correction; image signal correction means for performing signal level correction processing and outputting an image signal subjected to level correction; image signal correction strength control means for determining correction strength and changing an input-output characteristic of the signal level correction processing; signal correction characteristic estimation means for estimating a characteristic of level correction due to the signal level correction processing of the image signal correction means on the basis of the correction strength; and noise correction strength control means for operating and controlling correction strength of the noise correction processing in the noise correction means in conjunction with a characteristic of the level correction estimated by the signal correction characteristic estimation means.
