<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce damage received to a C ring by thrust force, by reducing the thrust force generated in a pinion gear formed of a helical gear. <P>SOLUTION: This starter 1 includes a drive shaft 4 rotatably driven by an electric motor 2, and an overrunning clutch 5 movable in the axial direction on the drive shaft 4. The overrunning clutch 5 has a clutch outer 56 and a clutch inner 57 connected via a roller 58 to the clutch outer 56. The clutch inner 57 becomes a separate body from the pinion gear 6, and the pinion gear 6 and the clutch inner 57 are connected via gear parts 92 and 93. Thrust force in the opposite direction of thrust force generated by meshing of the pinion gear 6 and a ring gear 8 of an engine, is generated by the gear parts 92 and 93, and the thrust force generated in the pinion gear 6 formed of the helical gear is reduced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
