摘要 FIELD: cathodic fluorescent based low-voltage means for data display, such as digital and alphanumeric display screens and universal panels for visual display of textual, character, graphical, and any other information. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed field-emission based cathodic fluorescent screen has vacuum envelope assembled of two flat glass plates, one being face plate mounting phosphor-covered anodes of at least one color and substrate mounting electrodes (emitters and control electrodes) connected through mutually perpendicular buses to voltage supply leads, as well as insulating frame that interconnects face plate and substrate through sealed joint; isosceles-trapezium-section emitters and control electrodes are disposed in same plane, larger base of trapezium being disposed on substrate; potentials Ue and Ug.e. applied across emitters and control electrodes, respectively, meet following inequality: (Ug.e. - Ue)/D >= 3 kV/mum, where D is distance between emitters and control electrodes as measured on insulating layer surface in micrometers; potentials Ue and Ug.e. are measured in kilovolts; in addition emitters and control electrodes are made in the form of combs placed one onto other; emitters and control electrodes are made in the form of any desired geometric figures inserted one into other, for instance in the form of spirals; angle alpha at trapezium base meets following condition: 20° <= alpha <= 60°. In other design alternate of field-emission based cathodic fluorescent screen incorporating vacuum envelope assembled of two flat glass plates, one being face plate mounting phosphor-covered anodes of at least one color and substrate mounting electrodes (emitters and control electrodes) connected through mutually perpendicular buses to voltage supply leads, insulating frame that interconnects face plate and substrate through sealed joint emitters and control electrodes are disposed in parallel planes at short controlled distance; they have one symmetry axis perpendicular to substrate which crosses center of each emitter and is aligned with symmetry axis perpendicular to substrate crossing center of each respective control electrode, and cross-sectional area of each emitter-dielectric-layer-control-electrode system is shaped as isosceles trapezium whose larger base relates to emitter and smaller one, to control electrode; potentials Ue and Ug.e. applied across emitters and control electrodes, respectively, meet following inequality: (Ug.e. - Ue)/D >= 3 V/mum, where D is distance between emitters and control electrodes as measured on insulating layer surface in micrometers; potentials Ue and Ug.e. are measured in volts; in addition emitters and control electrodes are made in the form of combs superposed one onto other; emitters and control electrodes ere made in the form of any desired geometric figures superposed one onto other, for instance in the form of spirals; angle alpha at trapezium base meets following condition: 20° <= alpha <= 60°. ^ EFFECT: enhanced image brightness, service life, and information capacity of screen. ^ 8 cl, 7 dwg
