A communication device 43 operating in a mesh network receives a first message according to a mesh network protocol, the first message indicating that it pertains to a first logical mesh network 41. The communication device 43 automatically generates a second message according to the mesh network protocol, the second message indicating that it pertains to a second logical mesh network 40 and having an identical payload. The second message is retransmitted into the second logical mesh network 40. The communication device acts as a bridge between logical mesh networks which translates messages. An authentication key or encryption key K1,2 can be used to indicate the logical mesh network to which a message pertains. |
