Further, the game machine selectively determines a performance symbol constituting the ready-to-win state from a plurality of types of performance symbols on the basis of continuation/non-continuation of the probability variable state. In that case, the game machine, when determining it, differentiates a probability of selecting the performance symbol constituting the ready-to-win state between a case of having determined to continue the probability variable state and a case of having determined not to continue the probability variable state. On condition that it is determined to continue the probability variable state, the game machine determines a symbol "7" being prone to win the battle as a performance symbol constituting the ready-to-win state.
