PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in which, when an ion current detecting circuit and a waveform processing circuit are integrated with an ignition coil, the ignition coil is increased in size, each cylinder needs to secure a mounting space around an engine head, and a distance of wiring for supplying an ion current detecting signal to an ECU for detecting a combustion state of an internal combustion engine, to the ignition coil of each cylinder is elongated to become susceptible to an effect of noise.SOLUTION: An ignition system includes ignition coils each having an ion current detecting function for detecting an ion current generated in a cylinder by combustion of an internal combustion engine. The ignition coils each include ion current detecting circuits 60a and 60b for detecting the ion current. At least one of the ignition coils is used as a master ignition coil 10 including an ion waveform processing module 70, and the master ignition coil 10 is connected to sub-ignition coils 20 as the other ignition coils, and is further connected to an ECU 30 for performing electronic control for the internal combustion engine. |
