PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compactly configured prime mover device of a cable type transport facility. ! SOLUTION: A prime mover device of a cable type transport includes a prime mover pulley 13 for winding and driving a cable 16, a speed reducer 20 connected to the prime mover pulley 13, a gear box 26 connected to an input axis of the speed reducer 20, and two electric motors 33, 34 connected to the gear box 26. The gear box 26 includes two shafts comprising an input shaft 28 and an output shaft 29, which are disposed in parallel to each other and are rotated at a same speed in linkage with each other, two electric motors 33, 34 are connected to the input and output shafts 28, 29 and said two electric motors are disposed in parallel to each other. !
