PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring composition for color filters having high lightness, and also excellent heat resistance and solvent resistance, and a color filter using the same.SOLUTION: A coloring composition for color filters comprises a colorant comprising a salt-forming compound (B) comprising a triarylmethane basic dye and a counter compound having an anionic group, a binder resin, a solvent, and a photocationic polymerization initiator (A).
