Described are mixture of antiviral plants (E. purpurea and U tomentosa) and microbial immunostimulants (P. parvulus and C. parapsilosis), which are used in the culture of white shrimps (Litopenaeus vannamei) in laboratory. Said mixture reduces the prevalence of WSSV in infected shrimps with a low viral load, from 100% in the control performed without a treatment with plants and microorganisms, and up to 0% in shrimps fed with plants and microorganisms, in 21 days of treatment. The aforesaid description means that the disease can be prevented (feeding them with plants and immunostimulants before being infected with the virus) or treated when the viral load is low. Another important fact is that the plants and the immunostimulants in the food do not affect the growth of the shrimp.
|
