PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus enabling a user to intuitively grasp a display form of an azimuth information without depending on an attitude of the imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: imaging means; azimuth acquisition means for acquiring an azimuth; attitude detection means for detecting an attitude; display control means for controlling an image to be displayed on a display part; and switching means for switching from a first mode for controlling an azimuth of an imaging direction to be displayed on a display part to a second mode for displaying at which azimuth each portion of the image is located, the image being viewed from a center of the image displayed on the display part by the display control means when an elevation-angle of the imaging apparatus determined from the detected attitude becomes a predetermined angle or more.
