PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device that prevents a reduction in a voltage holding ratio (VHR) of a liquid crystal layer and solves display troubles, such as white spots, alignment irregularity, and image burn-in, by using a color filter made from a chiral liquid crystal containing material and a specific pigment.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate, a color filter including a black matrix and at least RGB three-color pixel portions, a pixel electrode, and a common electrode. The liquid crystal layer includes a chiral liquid crystal containing material containing: a nematic liquid crystal composition containing at least two kinds of achiral liquid crystal compounds; and at least one kind of a chiral compound. The RGB three-color pixel portions contain a specific pigment in a B pixel portion as a color material. |
