PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an anatase type titanium oxide particle, in which the size of the anatase type titanium oxide particle, that has a high area ratio on the [001] plane of an anatase-type crystal structure and a nano-level microstructure, is controlled without using fluoric acid as a material for controlling a shape of the anatase type titanium oxide particle. ! SOLUTION: The method for producing the anatase type titanium oxide particle comprises the steps of: mixing a titanium compound with a compound (a compound for controlling the shape thereof) containing a titanium atom and a fluorine atom; and producing the titanium oxide by a wet process. !
