The method involves carrying out stabilized mode test on a sample by using an insert gas as tracer gas, such that tracer gas flow is measured. Another stabilized mode test is carried out on the sample by using methane gas as tracer gas such that another tracer gas flow is measured. Flow of methane advection through the sample is estimated during the former stabilized mode test, and migration of the gases within the sample is determined by absorption of the methane flow by the sample and by determining surface coefficient of diffusion of the sample. |
