The invention relates to a computer implemented digital blur filter for producing a blurred print corresponding to an incorrectly focused lens system in an original digital image in an image memory. For each image value of each colour channel of each point of the original image, a new image value is produced using a convolution formula with a filter core which has the shape of a desired optical confusion circle and a blurred image is obtained as a result from the thus digitally generated novel image values.
