Smut-catchers.-In an inverted incandescent gas burner a smut-catcher of heat resisting and preferably vitreous material is supported on an ornamental member 6 screwed on to a pipe 5 which screws into an upward vertical extension of the downtake 2 of the gas bracket. The smut-catcher is held in position by a loose-fitting ornamental member 8 and a knob 9 which screws on to and covers the upper end of the pipe 5.</p> |
