The present invention provides a data decomposition and synchronization method and system. The method comprises: a client decomposing, according to a preset data decomposition standard, data needing to be synchronized, and then sending the data in batches to a server for synchronization; the server receiving the data sent by the client, and determining difference-set data according to a current synchronization anchor of the server; the server updating the current synchronization anchor of the server and sending it to the client; the server decomposing the difference-set data according to the preset data decomposition standard, and sending the decomposed difference-set data to the client in batches; and the client receiving the difference-set data sent by the server and updating the current synchronization anchor. The present invention avoids risks that data synchronization may fail in the case of too much data or relatively large difference-set data in a synchronization process, so that a user better operates and controls synchronization, to improve user experience of the user.
