<p>The present invention relates to a conveying assembly (200) comprising an overhead conveyor (201) utilizing shackle assemblies (210) for transporting poultry carcasses (212) through a processing plant, said overhead conveyor including a track and a series of trolleys (204) hanging therefrom to travel there along, said trolleys being interconnected by a drive chain (206). The conveying assembly further comprises a guide chain (232) disposed generally horizontally below and essentially parallel to the overhead conveyor, which guide chain is operable synchronously with the drive chain and is provided with stops (234) to abut against the leg-engaging retainer (216) to prevent rotation of the shackle assemblies about an essentially horizontal rotation axis.</p> |
