A power transmission apparatus for a bicycle is provided to implement a wide multi-step speed change function and have a simple structure to enable mass-production. A power transmission apparatus for a bicycle includes a gear housing(100), a multi-step gear(200), a transmission gear(210), a transmission gear housing(110), and a connection gear(220). The gear housing is installed between a crank and a rear wheel hub. The multi-step gear is installed inside the gear housing. The transmission gear is selectively engaged with the multi-gear. The transmission gear housing engages or disengages the transmission gear with or from the multi-gear. The connection gear is engaged with the transmission gear to transmit power of the transmission gear. |
