Provided are a diary generation method and device, which relate to the technical field of information processing and can realize the automatic generation of a diary based on data from different sources. The method comprises: acquiring a source data set and a diary description data set corresponding to the source data set; calculating alignment probabilities of various source data sequences in the source data set and various diary description data sequences in the diary description data set to obtain an alignment probability set; calculating occurrence probabilities of the various diary description data sequences in the diary description data set to obtain an occurrence probability set; according to the alignment probability set and the occurrence probability set, determining a target diary description data sequence corresponding to a source data sequence to be translated from the various diary description data sequences, wherein the source data sequence to be translated is any sequence in the various source data sequences; and translating the target diary description data sequence into diary description texts. The embodiments of the present invention are mainly applied to the automatic translation processing of a diary.
