Provided are: a display device which is capable of reliably holding an optical sheet; and a television receiving device. This display device is provided with: a light guide plate which is arranged on the other surface side of a display panel that has a display surface on one surface; a plurality of light source elements which are arranged so as to face an end face of the light guide plate; an optical sheet which is arranged on the display panel side of the light guide plate; and the display panel which is arranged so as to face the optical sheet. This display device is additionally provided with: a first holding part which blocks light from the plurality of light source elements emitted toward the display panel and holds the optical sheet from the light guide plate side; and a second holding part which separates the display panel from the optical sheet and holds the optical sheet from the side opposite to the first holding part. A gap is formed between the optical sheet and the display panel by means of the second holding part.
