<p> An absorbent article having a longitudinal direction, and a lateral direction that intersects with the longitudinal direction, the absorbent article having: an absorbent body that is provided along the longitudinal direction, and that absorbs dejecta; a ventral strip member that is provided along the lateral direction, and that covers, from the non-skin side of the absorbent body, one longitudinal end of the absorbent body, the central part of the ventral strip member in the lateral direction being fixed to said one end; and a dorsal strip member that is provided along the lateral direction as a separate member to said ventral strip member, and that covers, from the non-skin side of the absorbent body, the other longitudinal end of the absorbent body, the central part of the dorsal strip member in the lateral direction being fixed to said other end. The absorbent body has: an absorbent core formed by layering a liquid-absorbent material; and a liquid-impermeable leak-proof sheet that covers the absorbent core from the non-skin side thereof. Leg-surrounding elastic members are arranged along the longitudinal direction and laterally outwards from the absorbent core. A dorsal strip elastic member that intersects with a part of said leg-surrounding elastic members is arranged along the lateral direction on the dorsal strip member. A ventral strip elastic member that intersects with a part of said leg-surrounding elastic members is arranged along the lateral direction on the ventral strip member. A region, in which a stretched section of the leg-surrounding elastic members intersects with the dorsal strip elastic member, is longer in the longitudinal direction than a region, in which a stretched section of the leg-surrounding elastic members intersects with the ventral strip elastic member.</p> |
