摘要 The present invention is an Au-Pt alloy for medical use, said alloy containing 34 to 36mass% of Pt with the balance being Au, and having a single-phase α structure that exhibits, in the X-ray diffraction analysis, an X/Y ratio of 0.01 or lower wherein X is the peak intensity assignable to the (111) plane of Pt, and Y is the peak intensity assignable to the (111) plane of Au. This alloy can be manufactured by producing an Au-Pt alloy ingot through melting and casting and thereafter subjecting the ingot to at least two treatment cycles, each treatment cycle including both cold working and heat treatment for homogenization. The alloy exhibits excellent compatibility with a magnetic field environment in MRI or the like and has a magnetic susceptibility falling within a range of the magnetic susceptibility of water minus 4ppm to that plus 4ppm. Thus, the alloy is a material enabling an artifact-free image.
