BROADCAST IMAGE DISPLAYING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING INFORMATION RELATED TO BROADCAST IMAGE

The present disclosure provides a method for providing information related to a broadcast image being output through a television (TV) with application installed, such as a smart TV, by analyzing the broadcast image. The method includes analyzing a still image captured from a broadcast image to determine whether the still image includes pattern information; scanning the pattern information if the pattern information is included in the still image; forming broadcasting related information included in the pattern information in at least one window based on the scanned pattern information; and displaying the at least one window on a screen. The method has an advantage of displaying broadcasting related information by scanning pattern information in a broadcast image in real time, not using a separate terminal but using an application installed in the TV.
