An ion exchange membrane comprising a polymerization product of a composition for filling an ion exchange membrane, the composition comprising a first aromatic vinyl monomer comprising a halogenated alkyl group or a quaternary ammonium salt group, a second aromatic vinyl monomer and a cross-linking agent,
wherein the ion exchange membrane has an ion exchange capacity of about 2.0 meq/g dry weight to about 5.0 meq/g dry weight and a solvent swelling ratio (SSR) of 17.3 or less, wherein the ion-exchange membrane is used to selectively separate ions in a non-aqueous system, and wherein an amount of the second aromatic vinyl monomer is about 0.1 to about 0.5 moles per 1.0 mole of the first aromatic vinyl monomer, and wherein an amount of the cross-linking agent is about 0.1 to about 0.2 moles per a total of 1.0 mole of the first aromatic vinyl monomer and the second aromatic vinyl monomer.
