The invention relates to a device for converting buoyancy energy using Archimedes' principle. The device, which is completely submerged in water or another liquid having the appropriate viscosity, is capable of generating a reciprocating motion induced by the combined action of the weight force and of the buoyancy controlling the barycentres of two caps having spherical sections secured to the ends of a rocker hingedly connected to a supporting structure. The forces applied to the arms of the rocker are generated by the gravitational pull of the earth on the two caps submerged in the liquid. The device is actuated by an external energy source (the force of gravity) and converts buoyancy energy by means of a suitably arranged and structured pneumatic-hydraulic system, which can act as a pumping element capable of generating a high-pressure fluid flow, through the action of the oleodynamic cylinders provided therein, by forcing the fluid to flow in a hydraulic circuit. The pumped fluid is thus injected into a turbine, providing same with the mechanical power required to activate a current generator. Such apparatuses can be positioned anywhere, submerged in freshwater reservoirs having appropriate depth above-ground or partially or completely buried, or submerged in the sea at a sufficient depth. Due to the modular nature of thereof, said apparatuses can be used to manufacture microsystems of a plurality of KWs, which make up power stations having considerable power output. |
