<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that is compact and can suppress the occurrence of unevenness in illuminance even when a document floats from a document platen.SOLUTION: An image reading device 100 includes a document platen 104 on which a document is placed, an illumination unit 310 that illuminates the document, a linear sensor 304 that receives light from the document, an optical unit 303 that guides the light from the document to the linear sensor 304, and an abutting part 307 that determines the position of the document in the longitudinal direction of the linear sensor 304. The illumination unit 310 includes a light guide body 311 that is extended in the longitudinal direction of the linear sensor 304, and a light source 312 that is arranged only at one end in the longitudinal direction of the light guide body 311. The abutting part 307 is arranged on the opposite side to the light source 312 in the longitudinal direction of the light guide body 311.</p> |
