<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter which can largely improve a tool life of a cutting tool, and a cutting method.SOLUTION: An external peripheral face 91bv of a cutting tool 90 is formed at a rake face which is intermittently notched to an object W to be cut while rotating. Therefore, since the same portion of the external peripheral face 91bv of the cutting tool 90 does not always contact with the object W to be cut, a contact portion with the object W to be cut in the external peripheral face 91bv is changed accompanied by the rotation of the cutting tool 90, and the wear of the external peripheral face 91bv can be suppressed. Furthermore, cutting by the cutting tool 90 brings about a state approximate to vibration cutting which periodically releases the external peripheral face 91bv of the cutting tool 90 from the object W to be cut. By this constitution, since cutting oil is easily fed to the external peripheral face 91bv of the cutting tool 90, in particular, a cutting point between a cutting edge 91rv and the object W to be cut, a temperature of the cutting edge 91rv can be lowered. Thus, a tool life of the cutting tool 90 can be largely improved.</p> |
