PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power conversion apparatus which achieves downsizing.SOLUTION: An electric power conversion apparatus includes: a power module 300 having a power semiconductor element which converts a direct current into an alternating current; a drive circuit board 22 on which a drive circuit for driving the power semiconductor element is mounted; a control circuit board 20 on which a control circuit that outputs a control signal for controlling the power semiconductor element to the drive circuit is mounted; a metal base plate 11 disposed between the control circuit board 20 and the drive circuit board 22; and a housing 12 which stores the power module 300. The power module 300 is disposed at the opposite side of the control circuit board 20 sandwiching the drive circuit board 22 therebetween. The metal base plate 11 includes: a support pillar 811 which supports the drive circuit board 22; and a support pillar 810 which supports the control circuit board 20. The metal base plate 11 is connected with the housing 12.
