<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that is compact, and can suppress illumination light from an illumination unit from entering the eyes of a user.SOLUTION: An image reading device 100 includes a document platen 104 on which a document is placed, an illumination unit 310 that illuminates the document, a linear sensor 304 that receives light from the document, an optical unit 303 that guides the light from the document to the linear sensor 304, a document pressure plate 105 that brings the document into pressure contact with the document platen 104, and a hinge part 106 for opening and closing the document pressure plate 105. The illumination unit 310 includes a light guide body 311 that is extended in the longitudinal direction of the linear sensor 304, and a light source 312 that is arranged only at one end in the longitudinal direction of the light guide body 311. The hinge part 106 is arranged on the opposite side to the light source 312 in the longitudinal direction of the light guide body 311.</p> |
