<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out image recording in a short period of time even in the case of an image processing device provided with a configuration for carrying out a skip operation. <P>SOLUTION: Original document is read as image data. White areas of the original document are detected respectively for bands, obtained by dividing the original document at a predetermined width in a sub scanning direction, by using the image data. The image data of the bands and the information about whether the band is a white area is associated with each other and stored in a memory unit. The image data of the bands and the information about whether the bands are white areas is read from the memory unit. The image data of the bands which are not the white areas is recorded in a recording medium, and the bands of the white areas are skipped. It is determined whether the number of continuous bands of the white areas is larger than the predetermined threshold value of a first continuous number. In a reading process, the image data of each band and the information about whether the band is the white area are read from the memory when a first predetermined time period elapses after a first determination unit determines largeness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
