The invention solves the problem of the connectivity provider's control deficit identified in the prior art by using the access point of the connectivity client while maintaining the router functionality in the connectivity provider. As a result, it is up to the connectivity provider to decide whether to send connection requests to the AP in the connectivity client after which the connectivity client may access the router in the connectivity provider. By contrast, in known tethering solutions the AP and router are located in the connectivity provider and it is up to the connectivity client to decide whether to send connection requests to the AP in the connectivity provider. Thus the connectivity provider has more control over connectivity consumption by connectivity clients and can limit access to its router functionality and internet traffic. |
