<p>The present invention addresses a storage system 20 comprising at least one floor-mounted rail 24, which in turn comprises a rack 26. The storage system 20 also comprises a plurality of cabinets 22, which are able to move along the floor-mounted rail. Each cabinet comprises a pinion 126 designed for meshing with the rack of the floor-mounted rail. The storage system also has at least one upper rail 34 parallel to the floor-mounted rail and placed in the higher portion of the cabinets. The upper rail comprises a rack 36 and each of the mobile cabinets 22 comprises a pinion 136 designed for meshing with the rack of the upper rail. According to the invention, the rotation of the upper pinion is constrained to the rotation of the floor pinion.
