<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce computation load associated with calculation of confidential information from distributed information. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is an authentication system including devices having different functions and parameters, and an authentication device. When pieces of confidential information derived from the function of one of the devices and the respective parameters of the other devices, or confidential information derived from the parameter of one of the devices the respective functions of the other devices coincide with each other, the authentication device authenticates the devices.
