PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer having an openable/closable cover provided on an outer shell without impairing the appearance design property of the outer shell. SOLUTION: The hand dryer includes: a cover provided on the outside of a casing in an openable/closable or attachable/detachable manner; a rotating shaft provided at either one of the casing and the cover; and a shaft fitting portion provided on the other, to which the rotating shaft is fitted. The shaft fitting portion and the rotating shaft are mutually rotatable, and the shaft fitting portion has a recessed or hole-like shape larger than the rotating shaft. The distance between the casing and the cover can be changed by moving the position of the rotating shaft relative to the shaft fitting portion.
