An unloading apparatus (100) is provided with: a bucket elevator (110) installed on a particulate matter carrying vessel (1) to transfer a freight, such as particulate matter, in a vertical direction; floor conveyors (120) disposed at a bottom center (2c) of a hold (2) in such a manner as to penetrate the hull in a front-rear direction and connected to the bucket elevator (110) to transfer the freight such as particulate matter toward the lower end of the bucket elevator (110) in a horizontal direction; and an air slider (140) disposed at a bottom portion (2a) of the hold (2) in such a manner as to be inclined toward the bottom center (2c) to transfer the particulate matter in the hold (2) toward the floor conveyors (120). The particulate matter carrying vessel (1) is provided with a plurality of watertight holds (2). A connecting portion of the floor conveyors (120) and the air slider (140) is respectively fitted with a watertight discharge gate (130) that can close the connecting portion in a watertight manner.
