PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type water heater capable of optimally performing the feedforward control of temperature of hot water supplied from the middle mixing valve. SOLUTION: When detecting the stopping of hot-water supply, a middle mixing valve 5 is caused to stand by for hot-water supply while maintaining the opening degree of a feedback valve at that time point as it is, at the same time, a detection temperature of an upper hot water storage temperature sensor 33a and a detection temperature of a middle hot water storage temperature sensor 33d are stored, and at the time point when detecting the starting of hot-water supply, a control means 39 compares the detection temperature of the upper hot water storage temperature sensor 33a and the detection temperature of the middle hot water storage temperature sensor 33d, which are stored, with respective present detection temperatures. When a temperature difference of any one of the compared results is a fixed value or more, the middle mixing valve 5 is moved to be a feedforward opening degree, and meanwhile, when the temperature difference is a fixed value or less, the middle mixing valve 5 is feedback-controlled without being moved to be the feedforward opening degree.
