The invention relates to a holding frame (1) to accommodate a plurality of plug connector modules (40). The plug connector modules (40) are accommodated by means of holding means (41) in recesses (11) of the holding frame (1). The recesses (11) in the holding frame (1) are introduced in opposing frame parts (10). The holding frame (1) according to the invention enables spring-loaded accommodation and support of the plug connector modules (40) in the holding frame (1). Tolerances of the different plug connector modules (40) and the contact means thereof can be compensated for in this way. A secure and complete connection of plug connector modules (40) of a modular plug connector to the matching plug connector can be ensured in this way.
