<p>Disclosed is a process for the manufacture of paper, paperboard or cardboard, wherein dry spray starch is applied to a moving, wet sheet of material, to improve the mechanical properties of the paper product, particularly when recycled wood and paper pulp is used. The process includes the step of spraying electrostatically charged starch uniformly onto the entire wet sheet of material in powder form by means of one or more nozzle(s) together with a carrier gas at a velocity of at least 0.5 m/s and not more than 3 m/s.</p> |
