<p>Disclosed is an Internet-enabled host (109) for uploading data to and downloading data from an electrically heated smoking system (103) which has an electrical hardware programmable by software. The host (109) includes an interface (107) for establishing a communications link with the electrically heated smoking system (103) for uploading data to and downloading data from the Internet-enabled host (109). A processor and memory are configured to implement instructions stored in the memory. The instructions involve downloading and analysing data from the electrically heated smoking system (103), requesting data from the Internet, in dependence on the analysis, and uploading data from the Internet, or from the memory in dependence on the data received from the Internet, to the electrically heated smoking system (103). The uploaded data includes software for programming the electrical hardware of the electrically heated smoking system (103).</p> |
